ADDITIONAL INFORMATION for California residents
Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively referred to herein as “CCPA”), this Privacy Notice provides California residents with a description of our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of their Personal Information. Under the CCPA, “Personal Information” is information that identifies, relates to, describes, or could reasonably be associated or linked with a particular California resident or household.
Collection, Disclosure of Personal Information
Getinge collects information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California consumer or household (Personal Information). Getinge may have collected and disclosed for operational business purposes within the preceding 12 months, the below categories of Personal Information. For each category of Personal Information described below we also explain for what purpose we collect it and to whom we may disclose it. This information should be read together with rest of our Privacy Policy, which more comprehensively discusses our processing activities.
Categories of Personal Information Collected and Purpose of Collection
Identifiers such as your name, contact information, job title/medical title, unique personal identifiers, IP address, on-line identifiers, and for U.S. healthcare providers, a National Provider Identifier# (NPI) and/or a state license number.
Explanation. Getinge collects identifiers from you when you visit our website or when you complete an online form for product sales, service or technical support or other information. Getinge also collects identifiers provided to us by individuals who complete surveys conducted for market research or product evaluation, at trade shows and conferences when individuals request information regarding our products, and otherwise when Getinge engages healthcare professionals for services.
This personal information is collected for business operational purposes, including to respond to requests for information about our products and service, improve our products and services, to fulfill legal reporting obligations, and for other purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Online Use Information such as browsing history, search history and interactions with our online properties or ads.
Explanation. We collect Online Use Information to facilitate your access to the functions and information on our website that you seek, to improve, develop, and enhance the usability of the website generally, to tailor your experience to your perceived areas of interest, and for other purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Commercial Information, including products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.
Explanation. We collect information about your commercial interactions with us, including to provide you with products, services, and information and for other purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Professional, Employment Related Information is collected in connection with our employees and candidates who apply for jobs with us and may be collected about others we interact with professionally.
Explanation. We collect this information to evaluate job applications and for other purposes described in this Privacy Notice
Geolocation Data such as device location and approximate location derived from IP address
Explanation. We use geolocation data in order to improve your website experience, ensure that you see products and information relevant to your region, and for other purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Audio/Video Data such as testimonials, photographic images, and call and video recordings.
Explanation. Getinge collects audiovisual recordings, photographic images and/or written statements for use as testimonials on our website, marketing and sales materials, for security, and or for other purposes, typically with the consent of the individual(s) involved. To the extent a call or video meeting is recorded, the recording is authorized to be used only for business purposes.
Inferences drawn from any of the Personal Information listed above to create a profile or summary about, for example, an individual’s preferences and characteristics.
Explanation. Getinge draws Inferences from Personal Data collected about you to improve our service and product offerings to you.
Account log in information, which we collect about you.
Explanation. We collect and use your account log-in information in combination with a security or access code, password or credentials (for individuals who create accounts through our website or product or service applications) in order to manage your access and security with respect to your access to our products and services. While account log in information sometimes is treated as Sensitive Personal Information under the CCPA, we do not use this information to make inferences about your characteristics.
We may use each of the categories of Personal Information described above to operate, manage, and maintain our business, to provide our products and services, and to accomplish our business purposes and objectives, including, for example, develop, improve, repair, and maintain our products and service; personalize, advertise, and market our products and services; conduct research, analytics, and data analysis; undertake quality and safety assurance measures; conduct risk and security control and monitoring; detect and prevent fraud; perform identity verification; perform accounting, audit, and other business functions, such as investigations; comply with law, legal process, and internal policies; maintain records; and exercise and defend legal claims. We may disclose each of the categories of personal information described above with our affiliates and service providers, for use in connection with services provided for Getinge’s business operations. Our Website and similar services also may use standard technologies that enable Online Use Information to be collected by third-parties, including to provide you with more relevant content and advertising. Where does Getinge obtain Personal Information?
We collect Personal Information about you from you (e.g., forms that you complete on our website or at company-sponsored events) and from other sources:
- our affiliates
- trusted third-party service providers
- ad networks
- internet service providers
- data analytics providers
- our operating systems and platforms
- social networks
- publicly available databases
- cooperative databases
- joint marketing partners.
Retention. Getinge retains the categories of information described above for so long as reasonably necessary and proportionate to fulfill the business purposes set out above. The criteria that inform our retention practices include legal requirements, contractual requirements and business needs. For example, we will retain your information during ongoing interactions with you, including pending inquiries about sales and services, events and training registrations, and other matters, and for a reasonable period thereafter to enable any follow up of our correspondence and contact if needed.
Online Use Information is collected via the use of cookies and may be stored for different periods of time as each cookie has a specific duration. The retention periods relating to specific cookies are available in our Cookie Notice.
Your CCPA Rights
Requests to Know and Delete; Correct Inaccurate Personal Information
If you are a California resident, you or your authorized agent may make the following requests:
“Request to Know”
You may request that we disclose to you certain information, including:
- The categories of Personal Information we collected about you and the categories of sources from which we collected such Personal Information;
- The specific pieces of Personal Information we collected about you;
- The business or commercial purpose for collecting Personal Information about you;
- The categories of Personal Information about you that we otherwise shared or disclosed, and, for each, the categories of third parties with whom we shared or to whom we disclosed such Personal Information (if applicable).
“Request to Delete”
You may request that we delete Personal Information we collected from you. We will review your request, taking into account the type and sensitivity of the Personal Information subject to the request. We may deem it reasonably necessary to retain and maintain the Personal Information for one or more reasons specified in the CCPA.
"Request to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information"
If you believe that we maintain inaccurate Personal Information about you, you may request that we correct such inaccurate information. We are obligated to use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the inaccurate personal Information, taking into account the nature of the Personal Information and the purposes of the processing of such information.
To submit any of the three requests stated above or consistent with applicable law, please contact us at data.protection@getinge.com, 1-888-943-8872 (or 1-888-9GETUSA) or complete a Data Subject Request Form found here Data Subject Request Form. We can only respond to your request if it is verifiable. This means we are obligated to take reasonable steps to verify your identity or your authorized agent’s authority and your right to access the information you request. We may need to request additional Personal Information from you, such as including government-issued IDs containing your name and address, utility bills containing that same information, and/or unique identifiers like usernames, to verify your identity and protect against fraudulent requests. You may make a request on behalf of a child who is under 13 years old if you are the child’s parent or legal guardian. If you make a Request to Delete, we may ask you to confirm your request before we delete your Personal Information.
Right to Limit
Your Right to Limit Getinge’s Use of Sensitive Personal Information. You have a right to limit our use of your Sensitive Personal Information to that use which is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods reasonably expected by you or other narrow purposes. Please use the Data Subject Request Form to provide Getinge with this instruction.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing
Getinge does not “sell” personal information for money, but certain of the targeted advertising cookies found on Getinge’s website may have caused Getinge to “share” your Personal Information, as such term is defined in the CCPA, in the last twelve (12) months. This is described in our Cookie Policy,. Getinge respects your right to privacy and has included in the Cookie Preferences Center, an option for you to opt out of targeted advertising cookies.
Getinge does not knowingly “sell” or “share” personal information for minors less than sixteen (16) years of age.
Authorized Agents
If you want to make a request as an authorized agent on behalf of a California resident, you may use the submission methods noted above. As part of our verification process, we may request that you provide, as applicable:
- Proof of your registration with the California Secretary of State to conduct business in California;
- Written permission that the California resident has authorized you to make a request on the resident’s behalf. This permission must be signed (via physical or e-signature) by the California resident.
If you are making a Request to Know or a Request to Delete on behalf of a California resident and have not provided us with a power of attorney from the resident pursuant to Probate Code sections 4121-4130, we may also require the resident to:
- Provide you with a written permission signed by the resident to make the Request to Know or Request to Delete on the resident’s behalf;
- Verify the resident’s own identity directly with us;
- Directly confirm with us that the resident provided you permission to submit the Request to Know or Request to Delete.
Right to Non-Discrimination
You have the right to be free from unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights under the CCPA.
Do Not Track Signals
California law (CalOPPA) requires Getinge to let you know how we respond to web browser 'Do Not Track (DNT) signals'. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not honor Do Not Track requests at this time.
