One room, multiple uses
Hybrid operating rooms transcend medical boundaries by combining a state-of-the-art OR with one or multiple powerful imaging systems. They can be used for a multitude of interdisciplinary interventions as well as conventional procedures, making them highly cost-efficient and versatile. At the same time, they improve patient outcomes by reducing the need to transport the patient between multiple departments and teams.
Improving care across surgical disciplines
Once limited to cardiovascular procedures in the Cath Lab, image-guided surgery has expanded to include nearly all surgical disciplines.
In the modern Hybrid OR, this segregation is a thing of the past. Cardiovascular, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedic surgeries, urology and traumatology procedures can benefit from real-time diagnostic imaging. By integrating X-rays, ultrasound, MR and CT into the OR, all procedures can be performed in the same surgical suite — minimally invasive and conventional alike. Getinge surgical tables can be configured to meet the needs of any surgical discipline, with radiolucent tabletops that minimize or eliminate imaging artifacts for clear visualization.
Cardiac surgery
Hybrid revascularization procedures can reduce complications, particularly in high-risk patients. Less invasive procedures, guided by intravascular fluoroscopy, reduce the length of stay in the ICU and allow patients to more quickly return to their normal routines. Additionally, completion angiography performed at the end of a CABG procedure helps to immediately identify and rectify suboptimal results.
Supported procedures:
- Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass (MIDCAB)
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI, TAVR)
- Cardiac Stents
- Defibrillator and biventricular pacemaker
Vascular surgery
Endovascular techniques revolutionized the world of vascular surgery. Our Hybrid OR solution provides an environment in which imaging diagnostics and surgical interventions are fused together, to assist in maximizing patient outcomes.
Supported procedures:
- TAA Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm repair
- EVAR Endovascular Aneurysm repair
- Peripheral stenting
Orthopedics / traumatology
Often the most unpredictable cases among all surgical disciplines, outcomes for orthopedic and traumatology procedures have improved with the aid of imaging technologies in the Hybrid OR. Getinge advantages include larger imaging areas, 3D capabilities and improved navigation abilities through extended fusion possibilities and room designs.
Supported procedures:
- Pelvis reconstruction
- Spine surgery
Neurosurgery
The Getinge Hybrid OR solution provides increased precision and reduced stress for neurosurgical procedures.
Supported procedures:
- Aneurysm coiling
- Tumor resection
Oncology
Clear intra-operative tumor visualization can improve resection, minimizing damage to healthy tissue and delivering better patient outcomes.
Supported procedures:
- Surgical anatomic pathology
- Surgical oncology
- Gynecologic oncology
- Pediatric oncology
- Brachytherapy
- Cryoablation
- Minimally invasive oncology interventions
Going Hybrid
Most hospitals already own the basic prerequisite for a Hybrid OR: a mobile C-arm or mobile CT. Adding an operating table system with radiolucent accessories immediately opens up additional, state-of-the-art therapy options. For even more advanced, high-end solutions, our consultants can develop a Hybrid suite tailored to your needs.
