Getinge follows up successful inaugural Singapore T-DOC User Forum with a second in Thailand

After a successful T-DOC User Forum in Singapore in 2023, the second edition was held with equal acclaim in Thailand.  The event took place at the Novotel Marina Sriracha in Chon Buri, Thailand, with enthusiastic participation from 50 participants from Thailand and the South Asia Pacific region.  All CSSD (Central Sterile Supplies Department) practitioners who attended expressed great satisfaction with the event’s insightful sessions and valuable discussions.

The event started with expert presentations by our three distinguished speakers from Thailand, Singapore, and UAE.  The presentations include

  • Quality Assurance in CSSD (Thailand)
  • Quality Assurance and Patient Safety through the use of Electronic Sterilization Management System  (Singapore)
  • UAE Experience in Instruments Traceability

The topics presented covered quality assurance, patient safety, and traceability within CSSD departments, and led to deep and practical exchanges during the panel discussion.  The latter  offered fresh perspectives and strategies that participants can apply to their daily tasks to enhance operations within their CSSDs.

Breakout groups discussions were organized for all participants in the afternoon to maximize opportunities for best practice sharing and exchange of ideas.  Participants were able to rotate through three stations to learn and interact on these topics:

  • Group 1: Demonstration of T-DOC at the CSSD packing station
  • Group 2: How digitalization can alleviate shortage of CSSD manpower
  • Group 3: Reducing nursing time wastage through instruments traceability solution

Following a fruitful day of discussion and interaction, participants were invited to visit a nearby hospital’s CSSD.  Attendees were able to witness the hospital’s impressive workflow and facilities, where productivity and efficiency were significantly bolstered by the application of technology and digitalization.

Kulissara Tunyong, Managing Director, Thailand, and key supporter of this event, comments: ‘I am proud of the successful second T-DOC User Forum in Thailand. The insightful discussions on quality assurance, patient safety, and traceability, combined with strong networking, will enhance CSSD standards in our region. This event has strengthened our professional network, fostering continuous improvement and alignment with international standards. I am confident these collaborations will positively impact our customers' daily operations and overall efficiency.

Pei Pei Foo, Director Sales, Surgical Workflows, South East Asia also sums up her sentiments on this event: ‘The discussions during the user forum demonstrate that there is no one-size-fits-all concept in CSSD.  We hear the challenges faced by the participants and their determination to improve processes through digitalization.  This strengthens our impetus to collaborate and understand their pain points, and walk the digitalization journey with them.’
